I married into this recipe which is lucky for me (& and all of you since I’m sharing it!) My mother in law has a recipe for almost everything and this one definitely doesn’t disappoint!
This cookie is a type of brownie cookie rolled in even more sugar which make it absolutely heavenly.
Chocolate Crinkles
(makes about 5 dozen cookies)
2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup powdered sugar
Mix granulated sugar, oil, vanilla, and cocoa.
Mix in eggs, one at a time.
Stir in flour, baking powder, and saltZ
Cover and refrigerate for at LEAST 3 hours (I prefer overnight as it lets the dough set nicely.)
Once chilled, remove from fridge and preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Drop by spoonfuls into powdered sugar and roll around to coat.
Place on a sheet pan lined with wax paper and bake for 10-12 minutes. (My oven takes 10.5 minutes) or until almost no indentation remains when touched.
